Culture, Traditions, Nature and Sea to visit the best in a first trip to Brazil: the African traditions of Bahia, the wonders of Rio de Janeiro, the impressive Iguaçu waterfalls, the exciting Lençois region and the  joyfull seaside village of Jericoacoara.


DAY 1: Salvador

Arrival in Salvador de Bahia (flight paid by the travelers): reception by our personal and transfer to the hotel in Itapuá, an old fisherman’s village which has become the main tourist destination of the city.

DAY 2: Salvador

Departure (in private with driver/guide in English) to get to know the “Lower City” by the beaches (including the famous Barra with the Lighthouse, one of the symbols of the city), up to the port area of Ribeira with the church of Bomfim, the central of the mysticism of Bahia, the fort of Montserrat and the typical African market of the Feira of Sao Joaquim; we continue the journey in the direction of the “Upper Town” and the Pelourinho (the historical part of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Place) where we will stroll through the narrow streets appreciating its main churches and monuments (entrances for visiting the golden church of São Francisco included); At the end of the afternoon return to Itapuá and we recommend a walk independently to Piazza da Cira to taste the famous Acarajé (typical shrimp´s meatballs of Bahia) and the promenade with its bars / restaurants where you can enjoy a wonderful sunset.

DAY 3: Rio de Janeiro

Free morning on the beach a few steps from the hotel, or for a (not guided) walk in the Farol de Itapua region, Monumento de Vinicius de Moraes, Lagoon of Abaetè; after lunch transfer to the airport for boarding the flight to Rio de Janeiro: reception by our personal and transfer to a hotel located by the famous Copacabana beach promenade; after dinner excursion (optional and not included) to watch a typical music and samba show.

DAY 4: Rio de Janeiro

In the morning, excursion with vehicle and guide available in private (4/5 hours) to know the historic center of the city, second capital of the Portuguese colony, after Salvador, later capital of the Portuguese Kingdom, which moved to Brazil, and finally of the Brazilian Empire whose European styles and cultures strongly influenced its foundation and formation: the Lapa with the Selaron staircase and the Arco Iris, the bohemian district of Santa Teresa, Place XV and the historic Confeitaria Colombo. Free afternoon on the beach: we also recommend a walk along the famous Copacabana sidewalk till reach the Arpoador cape toenjoy an unforgettable sunset over the sea.

DAY 5: Rio de Janeiro

Private excursion (8 hours with lunch and entrance fees included) to visit the “Cidade Maravilhosa”, the first metropolis to be elected a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, for its cultural landscape (a work combined between nature and man) with the Christ the Redeemer and Pao de Açucar with the amazing views of the Baia da Guanabara and the Forest of Tijuca, the largest urban rainforest area in the world, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Sambodromo, (only outside), the temple of the world famous allegorical carnival parade. Free evening

DAY 6: Foz de Iguaçu

In the morning transfer to the airport for boarding the flight to Foz de Iguaçu: reception of our personal and excursion (in private with driver/guide in English) of the Brazilian side of the park (entrance fees not included), to appreciate the amazing Garganta do Diabo (from below). At the end of the day transfer to the hotel.

DAY 7: Foz de Iguaçu

In the morning excursion (in private with driver/guide in English) of the Argentine side of the park (entrance fees not included), to appreciate the amazing Garganta do Diabo (this time from above), the largest of the waterfalls with 150 mt. of extension and 80 mt. height. Free evening.

DAY 8: São Luis

In the morning transfer to the airport (depending on the flight´s time, possible morning optional excursion to the large Bird Park) for boarding the flight to São Luis: reception of our personal and transfer to the hotel in the historical downtown (Reviver) considered by UNESCO, Humanity Cultural Patrimony for the remarkable colonial potughese architetonical complex. We suggest a hang out in town to listen to the `Reggae“concerts and “Tambor de Crioula” in many bars and restaurants.

DAY 9: Lençois Maranhenses / Barreirinhas

Departure in the morning from 06:50 to 07:40 with air-conditioned 30-seats mini-bus along approximately 270 km of road until reaching the city of Barreirinhas, the main gateway to the Lençois Maranhenses national park with accommodation in Hotel. In the afternoon at 14:00 departure with a 4X4 non-air conditioned jeep, you will cross the river “Rio Preguiças” with a barge and then you will follow the sandy path that leads to the beginning of the Great Lençois Maranhenses national park: from here begins the excursion on foot to the dunes where you will get to know the Bonita Lagoon (or Blue Lagoon and the Fish Lagoon); return to the city after 18:00.

DAY 10: Lençois Maranhenses / Atins

Departure at 08:30 am to the port with “lancha voadeira” motorboat sailing along the Rio Preguiça river towards the ocean; the first stop is in the Vassouras region where you can visit the Little Lençois Maranhenses and observe the monkeys in the native “Tenda dos Macacos” shack; second stop in the small fishing community “Mandacarù” where you can climb the lighthouse of the navy (Farol Preguiças) to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the Lençóis Maranhenses, the Rio Preguiça river, flowing into the ocean and the immense native forest; finally arrival at the Caburè beach where we gonna have lunch (not included), bath into the river or in the sea and relax. After lunch we will continue by boat to cross the Rio Preguiça river and in just under 20 minutes we will arrive at Atins beach, where we will wait for the vehicle that will take us to the hotel. After having deposited your luggage, departure with a 4X4 jeep to visit the lesser known side of the Lençois Park: it is a unique experience to walk on the dunes, passing through various minor lagoons and reach the beautiful lagoons where you stop to rest, cool off into the waters transparent and enjoy an unmissable magical sunset over the dunes. Before returning to the hotel, we recommend a gastronomic stop (not included) at the Canto do Atins Restaurant, where you can taste the best local shrimp.

DAY 11: Delta Parnaíba

In the morning departure by boat to reach the beach of Cabure and soon departure by 4×4 vehicle towards the city of Tutoia, We will travel the scenic road for 3 and a half hours, following sandy tracks that can be flooded in the rainy season, we will meet landscapes of an incredible beauty, grasslands that are slowly invaded by the dunes and huts of the natives lost at the foot of the desert. Arrived in the town of Rio Novo we will continue until we reach the port of Tutoia (during the trip there will be a stop in a typical restaurant overlooking a natural lagoon, for lunch not included), where we will get on board on a motorboat for visit the Delta das Americas which separates the states of Maranhao and Piauì: created by the Rio Parnaiba river in its way to the ocean, it forms an intertwining of coves and islands of all sizes with different landscapes that given its vegetation we can consider as a glimpse of the Amazonian forest along the Route of Emotions. By boat we will sail over 70 km of this beautiful delta, crossing the native fishermen with their rudimentary sailing canoes, it will be a fascinating excursion. During this journey in the months from July to January, we will be able to observe the daily migration of hundreds of “Guará” birds (Scarlet Ibis) with the characteristic fiery red color, that return to their nests in the forest. The last part of this boat trip can take place after sunset, possibly surrounded by the twilight of the evening. Arrival at the Canarias´s Island and accommodation in the Pousada Casa de Caboclo, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner (not included) on the terrace by the river. Possible night excursion (optional and not included) for the sighting of the Caimans.

DAY 12: Jericocoara

Transfer by boat (20 minutes) to the port of Tatus in the city of Parnaiba and departure in a 4×4 vehicle, following a panoramic route, passing through the dunes of Luis Correia and following a 75 km asphalted road until reaching the town of Chaval where you will can climb a staircase to reach the highest point for be able to observe the village with its houses set among giant stones.  Will continue for another 50 km to the town of Camocim where we will cross the river “Rio Coreaù” using a barge: from this point we will travel over 40 km of a beautiful peace of coast, bordered by white sand dunes and coconut palms, until we will reach Tatajuba, a virgin and clear water beach where we will visit the lagoon “Lagoa Grande” before continue until to reach the village of Jericoacora, an ancient fishing community that has now became a paradise for kitesurfing

DAY 13: Jericocoara

In the morning excursion in Dune Buggy (4 hours) to get to know the Jericoacoara National Park, with its famous Paraiso and Azul lagoons; rest of the day free, and unmissable walk on the top of the dune “do por do sol” to enjoy a wonderful sunset.

DAY 14: Fortaleza

In the morning from 11:30 to 12:00 departure for the city of Fortaleza. On this day we will make the shortest route lasting about 6 hours and the trip will be divided into 2 stages: the first on board in a vehicle adapted to the sand (not equipped with air conditioning) along the sandy roads that move away from Jericoacoara until reaching the place called Jijoca; from here you will continue with an air-conditioned tourist mini-bus along approximately 300 km road trip until you reach the hotel in Fortaleza. Free evening to stroll on the famous and Beira Mar sidewalk.

DAY 15: End od Trip

Free day by the beach (check out at 12:00 – noon): we advise independently  visiting the market Fish of Beira Mar where you can choose the delicious and fresh “Sea Food” that will gonna prepare them from for you; transfer (in private) to the airport for boarding the return flight. End of services.

The price is calculated for a group of minimum 4 people and on the basis of the current exchange rate with the local currency. For a lower or higher number of people (or for exchange rate changes), a cost adjustment  must be made.
